Our schools programme in national pilot of quality mark

24 November 2015

SERIOUSLY good news! We've been invited to be part of a national government-funded pilot to develop a quality mark for providers of drugs education. This is fantastic news because not only does it mean we get free consultancy advice from the lead national organisation in research and standards in drugs education, Mentor UK, but with their support we can make sure our programme is as totally top-notch quality as it can possibly be - and (if we do what they say, which we will!) we should be one of the first providers in the country to get this quality mark! And of course the most important thing in all this is that we can be confident that the drugs education we're offering to young people in schools is as effective and has the most lasting impact as possible.

Mentor UK have joint funding from the Department for Education and the Department of Health (something that doesn't often happen) to develop and support best practice in drugs and alcohol education nationally. They draw on a broad international evidence base and research into what's most effective and has most impact and value. They're also developing a quality mark for schools, and a hub of good practice, amongst other things.

So excited to be working with them on this project!
