Our Youth Ambassadors programme has grown, with twelve great new recruits receiving induction and training in January, and peer mentoring training in February. They went through a rigorous selection and recruitment process, having been nominated by teachers in their schools: Archbishop Tenison’s CE High, John Fisher RC High and Trinity School.
They join our strong team of YAs, supporting workshops and events, speaking to parents, students and professionals, and advising the Board of Trustees and DSMF team about the most effective ways to work with young people. All the YAs have been involved with us in working with the Home Office, in reviewing Home Office plans for communications messages to young people around the New Psychoactive Substances bill, due to be passed soon. Our original YAs have planned and delivered input into training the new recruits, and been advising the Trustees on working with freshers, many now being in their first year at university. They are our greatest asset!
